Skin & Energy

Ten days ago, I walked into the retreat ( Dr. Joe Dispenza retreat in Cancun) carrying the quiet weight that so many of us hold without even noticing—the to-do lists, the emails, the client bookings, the constant doing.
I didn’t realize how much of my life was happening from the neck up.

Today, on Day 10, I’m leaving with something far deeper than techniques or meditation practices.
I’m leaving with a complete shift in how I understand energy, presence, healing, and what it truly means to care for someone—including myself.

This integration has changed the way I see my work, my rituals, my touch, and the energy I bring into every moment.
And I want to share how I’m bringing this into Pure Salons—and how you can bring it into your own skincare practice at home.

The Three Daily Practices I’m Bringing Home

Throughout the retreat, I kept returning to one question:
How do I carry this level of presence into my everyday life?
The answer arrived in three simple but powerful practices. It’s about Skin & Energy

1. Meditation Before Skincare

The first shift I’m committing to is so simple: well, actually i am already doing it and never missed a day!
Doing my meditation before skincare

I learned something profound here:
When you meditate first—even for a few minutes—you aren’t just calming your mind. You’re signaling to your entire system:

I am safe.
I can soften.
I don’t need to rush into the day.

Your nervous system relaxes.
Your cortisol lowers.
Your skin becomes more receptive.

So my  morning ritual will look like this:

  • My meditation
  • then begin my skincare ritual

Because skincare doesn’t start with a cleanser.
It starts with your energy.

You can do only 2 -5 minutes meditations before your skincare, we can always find few minutes to improve our day!

2. Presence Over Technique in My Facials

Even as a holistic facialist, I was still sometimes operating from technique more than presence. I’m grateful to say this was very rare and could have been if i was very tired and with awareness i was shifting my state back to serving from my heart.

Joe Dispenza talks about how our energy influences others—and I felt this truth deeply.

So before every facial from now on, to make sure i have 100% presence and not 99% I will:

  • take three conscious breaths

  • let my energy settle

  • set the intention:
“I’m here to hold space for healing.”

Because if I am rushed, stressed, or distracted,
my client feels it.

Their nervous system stays activated,
their skin stays guarded,
and true repair cannot happen.

But when I am grounded…
When I touch from calmness, from love, from intention…

The facial becomes more than skincare.
It becomes a nervous-system reset.

And that’s what i always want for you.

3. An Evening Gratitude Ritual for My Skin

This retreat softened something inside me.
It made me realize how often we treat our skin like a problem to solve instead of a partner to honor.

So every evening, before bed, I’m placing my hands on my face and speaking gratitude—real gratitude:

“Thank you for protecting me.”
“Thank you for showing me when I need rest.”
“Thank you for carrying me through today.”

It takes one minute.
But it changes the entire relationship.

When you stop fighting your skin
and begin appreciating it,
everything shifts.

How This Changes Pure salons

I’m not changing my treatment menu.
But I am transforming the experience.

This retreat offered me a clarity I didn’t know I needed.
Here’s how it’s shaping my work going forward:

 1.Intentional, Conscious Touch

Touch is medicine—when given with intention.

I’m bringing more grounded, loving presence into every facial:
the kind of touch that communicates:

“You are safe.”
“You are held.”
“You can let go.”

Your skin can only repair when your nervous system is regulated.
Products are powerful—but presence is transformative.

2. Client Education From the Inside Out

I’m moving beyond product recommendations.

I’m teaching clients:

  • meditate before skincare

  • breathe before touch

  • treat skincare as ritual, not routine

  • feel gratitude for their skin

This is the deepest layer of holistic beauty work—
transforming the relationship you have with your own face.

Your Invitation

Here’s the beautiful truth:
You don’t need a 10-day retreat to begin this work.
Your transformation can start right now.

Try this:

Tomorrow morning: meditate 2-5 minutes before skincare
When you apply your products: touch with intention, not autopilot
Before bed: thank your skin for one thing

Three tiny shifts.
But I promise you—your skin will respond.
Because it has been waiting for you to slow down and feel, instead of only do.

If you want to experience this in person, you are warmly invited to book a holistic facial at Pure Salons in Amsterdam or Amstelveen.

And if you’re reading from anywhere else in the world, stay with me—
I’ll be sharing these practices every week on my YouTube channel and Instagram

Your skin is not a project.
It’s a partner.
Let’s treat it that way.
